A Toledo man was recently indicted on three sex-related charges, including rape, by a Henry County grand jury.
Camren Houghton, 21, was indicted on one count of rape, a first-degree felony, and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of gross sexual imposition, both fourth-degree felonies.
Houghton appeared by video Monday in Henry County Common Pleas Court for a bond hearing.
Houghton requested and was granted court-appointed counsel. Bond was set at $50,000, no 10% allowed. If bond is posted, Houghton will be placed on electronic monitoring/GPS monitoring through the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.
An arraignment, as well as a motion for a protection order, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 5.
Authorities allege, from April 1-30, Houghton engaged in sexual conduct with a 13-year-old when he purposely compelled her to submit by force or threat of force. Authorities also allege, from April 1-30, Houghton had sexual conduct with a 13-year-old and substantially impaired the judgment or control of the alleged victim by administering a drug or intoxicant to her covertly or by force, threat of force or deception.
