Why are you running for office? I’m running because I believe public office is about serving people, not holding a title. After more than 30 years of owning and operating my own businesses, I’ve learned the importance of responsibility, accuracy, accountability, and treating every person with respect. As a lifelong resident of Stoddard County, I care deeply about our communities and want to use the experience I’ve gained over a lifetime to serve the citizens as their County Clerk.
What characteristics would make you good for this position? I believe my greatest qualifications are my experience, work ethic, and character. For more than three decades I’ve managed a successful business where accuracy, organization, customer service, and trust were essential every day. I’ve also served my church and my community, and I’ve built a reputation for honesty and dependability. I understand that the County Clerk’s Office belongs to the people, and I would approach the job with humility, professionalism, and respect for every citizen.
What do you hope to accomplish? My goal is to provide an office that citizens can trust. I want to ensure elections are conducted fairly and accurately, records are maintained with care, and every person who walks through the door is treated with courtesy and respect. I also want the office to operate efficiently, be responsive to the needs of the public, and earn the confidence of the people of Stoddard County.
Are there any recent actions by the current office that you agree or disagree with? I believe the County Clerk’s Office has many important responsibilities, and I appreciate the employees who work hard to serve the public every day. My campaign has never been about criticizing individuals. Instead, it’s about offering voters another choice. Every office can continue to improve, and I believe my years of real-world leadership, problem-solving, and customer service would bring a valuable perspective to the position while building on the good work already being done.
What do you see as the biggest challenges facing the county clerk's office and how would you address them? One of the biggest challenges is maintaining public confidence in elections and county government. People want to know that elections are secure, records are accurate, and the office is transparent and accessible. I would focus on clear communication, attention to detail, following Missouri law, and making sure every process is handled with fairness, professionalism, and integrity. I also believe it’s important to continue looking for ways to improve efficiency while providing excellent service to every citizen.
Are there any needs you want to address? I believe there’s always an opportunity to improve customer service and communication. Citizens should feel welcome when they contact the office, whether in person, by phone, or online. I also want to make sure information about elections, absentee voting, public records, and county services is easy to access and understand. Most importantly, I want every decision made in the office to reflect integrity, fairness, and a commitment to serving the people of Stoddard County.
