Prosecutors call witness 'consistent and credible' in Kristin Ramsey murder case

DES MOINES, Iowa —

Prosecutors say a murder charge against Kristin Ramsey should not be dismissed.

Ramsey is accused of killing real estate agent Ashley Okland 15 years ago.

Last week, Ramsey's attorneys filed a motion to dismiss. They claim the state misled the grand jury and that a neighbor who gave key testimony to investigators was not credible and changed her story.

The state responded to the defense's motion to dismiss with its own filing. Prosecutors say the neighbor's testimony was "consistent and credible." They also called those allegations against the neighbor "factual matters for the jury, not grounds for pretrial dismissal."
