El Paso Mexican Grill & Cantina Opens in Scott — September 21
Let's start with a new Mexican restaurant coming to Scott. We know you're saying to yourself, "Not another Mexican restaurant?!" But you probably haven't seen one as nice as this one.
El Paso Mexican Grill & Cantina will have its grand opening on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11 a.m., located at 668 I-10 Frontage Road in Scott.

Wow! This will surely be a hotspot in Scott for great Mexican food with friends and family.
From what we understand, this El Paso restaurant has the same owners as the other El Paso restaurants in the Acadiana area.
Blu Basil Asian Fusion on Johnston Street Has New Owners — New Concept Coming
Another restaurant in Lafayette appears to be getting new owners and likely a new concept and name. Blu Basil Asian Fusion at 5451 Johnston Street in the Time Plaza shopping center has new operators.

Realtor Vanlisa Thi Nguyen posted the following on social media:

Trader Joe's Lafayette Opens Thursday, September 17 — Here's What to Know
And the final update is not anything super new; it's just a reminder -- Trader Joe's in Lafayette is opening this Thursday, September 17, y'all!
The new store is located at 1710 Camellia Boulevard between Verot School Road and Kaliste Saloom Road. It will be 9,192 square feet, and the location will mark the sixth Trader Joe's in Louisiana. The store's normal operating hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Of course, this neighborhood grocery store will continue the company's longstanding Neighborhood Shares Program and will donate 100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to enjoy to a range of non-profit, community-based organizations, seven days a week.
