The City of East Ridge, 1515 Tombras Ave. in East Ridge, will celebrate the completion of a major renovation and expansion of the East Ridge Community Center with a Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony this Saturday. The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., with a Community Open House from noon–4 p.m.
The event will mark the completion of the first major renovation to the Community Center since the facility was constructed in 1994. Improvements include a major gymnasium expansion, facility-wide renovations, enhanced accessibility, upgraded building systems, remodeled restrooms, a renovated kitchen and additional improvements designed to expand recreational and community programming.
Officials said, "The $2.6 million renovation and construction project includes funding from a Local Parks and Recreation Fund grant awarded through the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation.
The project significantly expands the Community Center's capacity to support youth development, senior programming, recreation, health and wellness initiatives, community events and other programming for residents of all ages."
