LEMMON, S.D. — Hundreds of members of the Tomac family came together from the Dakotas and across the Midwest this past weekend because, "Mom said so."

The Tomacs gathered the weekend of July 18 in Lemmon, in the western portion of the state on the border with North Dakota, and came away with priceless photos.

As part of a wedding celebration, the children of Betty Ann Tomac, 92, came together. All 18 of them, nine boys and nine girls. The oldest is 74. The youngest are the twins, 52.

In tow were 73 grandchildren, 140 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

At one point in time, Betty Ann and her late husband, Bob, had 15 children living in the house.

Another great-grandchild was born over the weekend and four more are due by Christmas.
