INDIANAPOLIS — Governor Mike Braun wants state regulators to launch an investigation into NIPSCO following widespread power outages in Northwest Indiana.
Braun directed the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor on Monday to petition the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for a storm review.
The governor is demanding answers on tree line maintenance around equipment. He also wants proof the utility spent approved reliability funds as promised.
Thousands of residents in Northwest Indiana remain without electricity.
Braun ordered state agencies to clear roads and debris so utility crews can restore power faster.
