Midland Care names new Hospice and Palliative Care Medical Director
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Midland Care is adding a “nationally recognized physician leader” as its next Hospice and Palliative Care Medical Director.
According to Midland Care, it has named Scott A. Paxton, DO, to its clinical leadership team. Officials noted that Paxton is board certified in both Family Practice and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Midland Care stated that he will join Midland Care after serving as Associate Medical Director for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Wisconsin.

His experience will strengthen our hospice and palliative care programs as we continue providing innovative, high-quality care for patients and families across the communities we serve.”
According to Midland Care, Paxton’s responsibilities as Hospice and Palliative Care Medical Director include providing “physician leadership for Midland Care’s hospice and palliative care services, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to support high-quality, evidence-based care while helping patients and families navigate serious illness with dignity, comfort, and compassion.”
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Michigan State University, a Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa, and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio University. He is board certified in Family Practice and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
