Procedural error by Indiana Democratic Party bars Vincennes mayor from state Senate race

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - A procedural error made by the Indiana Democratic Party will prevent Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum from running for state Senate, according to a news release from Yochum.

A Democratic caucus had selected Yochum to run in the Senate District 39 race against Republican Jeff Ellington.

Yochum’s news release does not indicate what the procedural error was. It does say he is deeply disappointed by the circumstances and the impact the error will have on voters in District 39.
