Circle K on Route 202 in Greene robbed; suspect in custody
A Maine man faces multiple charges in connection with a robbery that happened at the Circle K convenience store in Greene, according to authorities.
Jason Dubois, 44, of Greene, was arrested and charged with robbery, theft by unauthorized taking, criminal trespass, refusing to submit to arrest or detention and criminal mischief.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the Circle K on Route 202 in Greene at about 11 p.m. Monday after a robbery was reported.
According to investigators, Dubois entered the store and told the clerk he was committing a robbery and claimed to have a gun. Officials noted, however, that a gun was not displayed during the incident and that they have not recovered a firearm during this investigation.
Investigators said Dubois then took cigars and a torch lighter and left the store without attempting to pay.
After Dubois was identified as the suspect, deputies found him and a white Ford F-150 that was believed to have been used in the incident at his home in Greene.
Dubois was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn, where he is being held on $10,000 bail.
The Sheriff's Office said the investigation remains ongoing.
