Second Harvest Food Bank begins delivering food donations to northeast Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A total of 63,000 pounds of food is on the way to northeast Wisconsin.

Crews at Second Harvest Food Bank spent most of the morning loading up the trucks.

The trucks are headed to places near where the tornado went through on Monday.

Many of the people in and near Menasha are dealing with damage, dealing with no power and having to clean up the damage.

The food being brought to the area will make about 52,000 meals.

The two trucks will go to the Feeding America Partners in Eastern Wisconsin.

“Obviously, this opportunity is, you know, devasting to get the call, but it’s a privilege,” Jackson Sabalones, Internal Logistics Manager at Second Harvest Food Bank, said. “Every single day, every single meal, every single item, you know, it puts wind back in my sails knowing that I’m surrounded by a team and an organization that, you know, can really make a huge impact in our community.”

Local businesses in the Fox Valley have also been working to feed families impacted by the tornado.
