Mother arrested after newborn found dead in trash at childcare facility
PERRY, Iowa (KCCI) - Authorities have arrested a woman in connection with the death of an infant found inside a trash container at a childcare facility in Iowa.
Perry police said the infant was found Tuesday evening inside a trash bag at the facility.
Emergency call preceded discovery
Dallas County Emergency Medical Services was sent to the facility shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a woman experiencing vaginal bleeding. The woman was evaluated and taken to the hospital.

Suspect charged with murder
Stephanie Ubaldo, 20, of Perry, was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree murder.
According to a criminal complaint, Ubaldo told investigators she delivered the child in the bathroom of the child care facility where she was employed.
The criminal complaint accused her of “intentionally caus(ing) injuries to the baby’s face in an effort to stop the baby from crying.”
