An Oklahoma City couple filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready, seeking the release of a state investigation into how State Farm handles roof claims from Oklahoma policyholders.
Craig and Elizabeth Gutierrez, who live in the Rose Creek neighborhood in northwest Oklahoma City, have been involved in a two-year legal battle with State Farm Insurance.
Their lawsuit asks a judge to order Mulready to make the investigation report public.
The couple said they were denied a new roof after hail damage back in 2024.
The couple said the report is overdue and could reveal critical information in their fight against the company.
Commissioner Mulready said an independent examiner has not yet submitted the final report to the insurance department.
“Our responsibility is to conduct a thorough examination, protect the integrity of that process, ensure the findings are supported by the evidence and ultimately protect Oklahoma policyholders, Mulready said.”
