Joseph Cody Wayne LeBlanc, 36, of Lufkin, was sentenced Thursday to 99 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice following a jury trial for harassment of two public servants.

Judge Todd Kassaw ordered LeBlanc’s 99-year sentence to run consecutively to a 30-year sentence for aggravated robbery that was imposed following a jury trial last month, on July 15 and 16.

Angelina County District Attorney Amy Wren provided details about the case.

At the time of LeBlanc’s aggravated robbery trial in July 2026, LeBlanc had 20 prior convictions including, but not limited to, assault/family violence, aggravated robbery, burglary and theft of a firearm. He was also facing seven new pending felony cases.

During the aggravated robbery that was committed Feb. 6, 2025, LeBlanc and his accomplice broke into an elderly victim’s home, threatened the victim with a firearm and stole additional firearms from the residence.

LeBlanc and his accomplice were apprehended a short time later at Motel 6 where they were found in possession of stolen firearms.

On Feb. 20, 2026, while incarcerated at the Angelina County Jail on the aggravated robbery charge, LeBlanc refused lawful orders being given for the safety of another inmate.

LeBlanc resisted jailer efforts to gain compliance, and while jailers were attempting to place LeBlanc in a restraint chair, he spat in the face of a female jailer. When another jailer took her place, LeBlanc accumulated spit and mucous in his mouth before forcefully projecting the fluid into the face of the second jailer.

“The District Attorney’s Office’s decision to try LeBlanc on multiple charges and request consecutive sentences was made to ensure public safety and to send a message to defendants, the community, first responders and jail employees that actions such as LeBlanc’s will not be tolerated in Angelina County," Wren said.

These cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kyle Tierney, Whitney Danner and Todd Dillon, with the assistance of the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office.
