Christmas tree farm hosts “Christmas in July” market

WINTERPORT, Maine (WABI) - Christmas time is here...well, almost.

The yuletide spirit was in the air in Winterport today during Winterport Evergreen Farm’s “Christmas in July Community Market”

Patrons were invited to come out to support local artisans and even got the chance to be one of Santa’s elves.

The market included a “fill the sleigh” project, with all presents donated going to support The Lydia Project.

Lydia Brown is a Brewer teen whose mission is to bring gifts and joy to those on the Pediatric Floor at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Owners Sean and Julia Kearns said that supporting the community that supports them is a focal point of their mission.

“In our prior lives; she was a schoolteacher for 33 years and I was in the Navy for 36 years. So, service to community, service to country kind of is in our blood. So, we really felt like we needed to do more for our local community and between the nonprofits that are here and just offering this market environment.” said Sean Kearns.
