Bicyclists finish cross-country ride from Oregon to Maine to promote housing for all CAPE ELIZABETH, ME (WGME) - From the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean, a handful of bikers took on a 4,000 mile cross country trek. In may, the Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure took off from Oregon. Riders journeyed more than 70 miles per day for about 10 weeks. It's an initiative to raise money and awareness for the Fuller Center for housing's mission to eliminate poverty housing. Along the way, cyclists took part in volunteer home building days. During their journey, they ventured through some of the country's most iconic landmarks, including Glacier National Park and Niagara Falls. Their final destination was the Portland Headlight. "You defiantly see a lot of different emotions for some people. It is a bucket list to ride across all the states, but also they are all riders who are now changed for life. They have all seen some very beautiful things some really positive things and I think it was a great, beautiful, tremendous experience all around," said Neil Mullikin, a coordinator the Full Center Bicycle Adventure. When riders left the west coast, they dipped their back tires into the Pacific Ocean. On Saturday, riders celebrated completing their journey by dipping their front tires into the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Elizabeth.
